Generic and Transferable Skills (GTS) is an educational initiative that intends to highlight and develop the generic and transferable skills of PhD students at Chalmers. GTS includes courses and activities for Chalmers doctoral students in which they acquire generic skills. These are the mandatory activities and courses as well as optional courses included in the programme.
In the GTS programme for Chalmers doctoral students, the courses and activities are aimed to acquire generic skills in the areas of sustainable development, communication, group development, leadership and utilization of research. These competencies enable Chalmers doctoral graduates become more attractive in different labor markets. For example, being better equipped for future leadership assignments, tackling social challenges and collaborating across borders and with different groups in society.
GTS courses are divided into Mandatory and Optional courses. You have a requirement to obtain atleast 15 ECTS from GTS to finish your PhD. The schedule for the courses in the next semester is usually released in the beginning of March and October respectively.

The offer the advantage of being on demand (yes, you can get a seat directly), they run several times a year, and are quite useful.
