For Phaddrar:

Dear Phadder :)

Here you will find some helpers and check points to give the best experience to our new colleague.

❔But first of all: “What is a ‘Phadder’?

The word Phadder (plural “Phaddrar”) means “god-father”/”god-parent” spelled with a “Ph” (Sw. “fadder”/”faddrar”). It can be loosely interpreted as a College Parent. A Phadder is a friend/god-father/god-mother to new students at Chalmers.

🥚 Pre-Start

Preferably you plan the following things before the PhD student arrives:

🐣 Post-Start

Week 1-2

Onward

If you hit it off you can of course continue. Some plan regular lunches, afternoon walks or fikas but don’t feel pressured to do so ;)

For New PhDs:

Welcome to the TME PhD Group! We're so glad to have you! 😊
